Carlos Eguiraun joins APQP4Wind Board of Directors as the new representative for GE Vernova

Carlos Eguiraun, Machine Head Supplier Quality Manager at GE Vernova, has taken over the post as representative for GE Vernova in the APQP4Wind Board of Directors from Guy Lynch. As a board member, Carlos wants to fortify a strong and active voice that helps utilities, OEM’s, and suppliers clearly understand the vision, direction, and value the APQP4Wind organization brings to the wind industry.

Machine Head Supplier Quality Manager and acting Supplier Quality Leader for the onshore wind division, Carlos Eguiraun, has been part of GE Vernova's Supplier Quality team for over 15 years. Today, he leads a team of Supplier Quality Engineers responsible for supplier approval and PPAP for all components outsourced to external suppliers.

As a new member of the APQP4Wind Board, Carlos Eguiraun wants to fortify a strong and active voice that helps utilities, OEM's, and suppliers clearly understand the vision and direction, and value that the APQP4Wind organization brings to the wind industry. Together with shaping the way the organization enables growth and standardization of the quality processes, he says:

"I come into the APQP4Wind Board with a high level of energy and look forward to maintaining the active role of GE Vernova in the APQP4Wind Board of Directors," and continues: "Great work has been done to date, and I hope to help shape the way the organization continues to provide a framework that supports the wind industry and the associated supply chains in maturing, implementing repeatable processes, and obtaining high-quality products as a result."

Carlos Eguiraun is Six Sigma Black Belt certified and has a Master Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Sheffield. In 2000, he started working with General Electric, joined the wind division (GE Vernova) four years later, and now he desires to be an active participant of the APQP4Wind Board as a representative for the company, he says:

"As the representative for GE Vernova in the Board, I want to ensure that we share the vision for the organization's future with the other board members. I also expect that GE Vernova adequately supports the APQP4Wind Working Group, work streams, and special projects agreed at a board level to bring strong value to the APQP4Wind Community."

Therefore, he sees excellent potential in the organization's future and firmly believes that APQP4Wind will continue to provide a solid framework to help the wind industry achieve its goals. He says:

It is exciting to join at a time when APQP4Wind is evolving and planning the next chapter to bring value to all in the wind energy supply chain. What we do in the next couple of years will be critically important to help establish APQP4Wind as a pillar for a framework and standard language on how we collaborate.

An active member of the APQP4Wind Board since 2018

GE Vernova is one of the world's leading wind turbine manufacturers, with over 49,000 units installed and generating wind electricity across the globe. Today, the APQP4Wind Board of Directors contains representatives from Vattenfall, Ørsted, GE Vernova, Goldwind, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Vestas Wind Systems, GRI Renewable Industries, KK Wind Solutions, LM Wind Power, and ZF Wind Power. The Board of Directors is the highest authority in the APQP4Wind organization and is responsible for all matters concerning strategy, marketing, project governance, and contractual obligations.
