APQP4Wind welcomes Vattenfall and Ørsted to the Board of Directors

Further aligning the global wind industry

During this year’s WindEnergy trade fair, the APQP4Wind Board of Directors welcomed Vattenfall and Ørsted to the APQP4Wind Board of Directors and held an official signing ceremony.

As the first utility companies to join the APQP4Wind Board of Directors, the addition of Vattenfall and Ørsted to the board is in close alignment with the APQP4Wind organization’s mission to enable and strengthen cooperation across the entire supply chain.

Furthermore, as some of Europe’s biggest utility companies, Vattenfall and Ørsted’s admission to the board will enable APQP4Wind to get great insight into the wind customers’ perspectives, which will help further develop the APQP4Wind concept and align the wind industry.

The APQP4Wind organization is therefore delighted to welcome Vattenfall and Ørsted to the APQP4Wind Board of Directors, says Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board and Head of Sales Quality NCE at Vestas Wind Systems, Henning Bach Jokumsen:

The APQP4Wind Board of Directors has consisted of representatives from OEMs and tier 1 suppliers since APQP4Wind became an independent organization in 2018. With the addition of Vattenfall and Ørsted to the board, the APQP4Wind Board now has representatives from across multiple levels of the supply chain.

The representative of Vattenfall will be Director of Project Quality, Lesley-Ann Aakær Møller, and Ørsted’s representative will be Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen, who is their Head of Strategic QHSE Supplier Management.

Working together across the supply chain

At the end of October 2021, Ørsted was the first utility company to become an APQP4Wind Company Member, and Vattenfall joined the APQP4Wind Community as well only a few days later. Now, both companies have joined the APQP4Wind Board to help further mature the wind industry.

Head of Strategic QHSE Supplier Management at Ørsted, Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen, expresses that joining the APQP4Wind Board is supporting Ørsted’s vision to create a world that runs on green energy, which requires working together to mature the renewable energy industry:

"Ørsted joining the APQP4Wind Board supports our vision to create a world that runs entirely on green energy. A step to fulfill this vision requires that we mature the industry of green energy by working together across the supply chain, as seen in other industries using the APQP methodology. Being a part of the APQP4Wind Board is essential to deciding the future of APQP4Wind in cooperation with suppliers, OEMs, and other utility companies within the renewable industry, thereby maturing all levels of the supply chain."

Providing new perspectives

When deciding the future of APQP4Wind and how to further develop a framework that helps mature all levels of the supply chain, it is vital to have perspectives from across the entire supply chain on the APQP4Wind Board. With the addition of Vattenfall and Ørsted, the board now covers the entire supply chain.

As the first utility companies to join the APQP4Wind Board, both Ørsted and Vattenfall will thus provide the board with valuable new insight into the utilities’ perspectives of the supply chain and their vast market knowledge, which will help APQP4Wind further mature the entire supply chain.
