Workstream 2 - Reference Designation Standards for Wind Power Systems – Wind Turbine Generator (RDS for WTG)
Reference Designation is a means of applying unambiguous identification to all parts of a system. A reference designator combines letters and numbers to identify the various features and components on drawings, diagrams, and parts lists. It’s the basis for standardized communication between all those involved in planning, engineering, construction, and operation.
The specific outcome from the group discussions in the workstream is a wind industry application guideline based on ISO/IEC 81346-10:2022., “Industrial systems, installations and equipment and industrial products - Structuring principles and reference designation - Part 10: Power supply plants”, which can integrate with other parts of the 81346 series.
The guideline has been written by subject matter experts from the following companies:
DNV
Equinor
GE Vernova Offshore Wind
Nordex Acciona
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy
