Workstream 5 - Reference Designation Standards for Wind Power Systems - Balance of Plant (RDS for Foundations)
The initial focus of TIM Wind was to agree on structuring the wind turbine generator system before classifying the balance of plant items needed to describe an entire wind power system. The focus of this workstream is the Balance of Plants, starting with the foundation structure for the wind turbine generator, both onshore, offshore monopile, jacket, and floating.
In time, the guideline will provide rulesets for all elements of a wind power plant: electrical, SCADA, and park layout, yet be designed to integrate seamlessly with other power technologies such as battery, solar, and power-to-X. The complete deliverable from the group will include a functional, location, and product breakdown for BOP and a guideline describing these.
The guideline has been written by subject matter experts from the following companies:
- DNV
- Equinor
- Nordex Acciona
- Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy
- Statkraft
- TrønderEnergi
- Vattenfall
- Vestas Wind Systems
- Ørsted
