TÜV Rheinland Greater China becomes an approved APQP4Wind Training Provider
High-quality APQP4Wind training
After the successful APQP4Wind Specialist Training held by TÜV Rheinland Greater China (TÜV Rheinland) in Shanghai last week, the APQP4Wind organization has approved TÜV Rheinland as an APQP4Wind Training Provider, alongside with DNV GL and Bureau Veritas.
According to General Manager of APQP4Wind, Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen, APQP4Wind is delighted that TÜV Rheinland has been approved as an APQP4Wind Training Provider because of their global presence and their high-quality training:
Helps mature the global wind industry
Being one of the world’s largest wind power markets, China plays a substantial role in the global wind industry. As an important part of APQP4Wind’s “Go Global” Strategy is to grow the network across borders, the APQP4Wind organization aims to further improve the global cooperation between utilities, manufacturers, and suppliers by approving TÜV Rheinland.
A vital part of establishing a common mindset and terminology is training in the APQP4Wind concept, and expanding the network of approved APQP4Wind Training Providers with TÜV Rheinland is therefore an important step towards APQP4Wind’s goal to further align and mature the wind industry on a global scale.
A growing APQP4Wind interest in the Chinese market
TÜV Rheinland is the first training provider from China to apply for an APQP4Wind trainer approval, and their application indicates a growing interest in and demand for APQP4Wind training in the Chinese market and Asia in general.
As TÜV Rheinland’s wind power business unit is based on the Chinese market, they focus on international standards and on continuously developing their service areas to help the Chinese wind industry supply chain compete internationally.
Like Vice President of TÜV Rheinland Greater China, Dr. Chen Weikang expresses, TÜV Rheinland wants to offer APQP4Wind training to help their clients improve product quality and adapt to the trends towards decreases in the LCOE:
To begin with, the training courses provided by TÜV Rheinland will mainly be offered in Chinese for Greater China. TÜV Rheinland is approved for APQP4Wind Specialist Training and are well on their way to being approved for more APQP4Wind training concepts.
Providing APQP4Wind training courses in the local languages is an important factor when ensuring that all users of APQP4Wind are comfortable and well-informed throughout all phases of APQP4Wind.
DNV GL and Bureau Veritas already offer training courses in Chinese, and with the addition of TÜV Rheinland, APQP4Wind aims to further accommodate the growing interest in and demand for APQP4Wind in Chinese.
Becoming an APQP4Wind trainer
TÜV Rheinland was approved as an APQP4Wind Training Provider, after a local team, who is familiar with the Chinese wind industry and APQP from the automotive industry, had undergone intensive training, discussion, and a pilot project. Their first APQP4Wind Specialist Training was successfully held last week in Shanghai, where Danish, German and Chinese specialists were also invited to participate online.
One of the trainers in the local team is Vice General Manager of Energy and Environment at TÜV Rheinland, Alex Guo Zhu, who will also serve as a consultant for the APQP4Wind Manual and Toolbox Working Group.
Alex Guo Zhu oversees TÜV Rheinland Greater China’s wind energy business and for building the department’s technical team. He holds more than 10 years of technical experience in the renewable energy sector, primarily within wind energy.
Before joining TÜV Rheinland in 2015, Alex Guo Zhu worked as a Technical Manager and Quality Assessment Engineer at Germanischer Lloyd and TÜV Nord. Furthermore, Alex holds a civil engineer degree from the University of Hanover, where his thesis focused on wind turbine investigation.
As a training provider based in China with APQP experience from both the wind industry and the automotive industry, TÜV Rheinland’s training courses will be able to offer local case studies from China, which the participants can discuss during training.
