TKF Implements APQP4Wind as the New Quality Standard for Offshore Wind Projects

APQP4Wind is an industry-wide quality approach based on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). The methodology provides a structured process for early risk management and standardizes the way technical risks in design and production are analyzed and assured.
It includes deliverables such as Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Process FMEA (PFMEA), Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). This way of working ensures predictable quality, faster approvals and transparent collaboration across the entire supply chain.
First APQP4Wind project with Vattenfall
This year, TKF and Vattenfall will start the first project to be executed fully in line with APQP4Wind. For the Nordlicht 1 + 2 project, quality assurance is structured around full PPAP documentation and a Control Plan, providing a more comprehensive and proactive approach than traditional inspection-based methods. This makes it possible to define and control the most critical characteristics and risks early in the process.
