The APQP4Wind Board of Directors re-elects Chairman

APQP4Wind is happy to announce that Senior Specialist at Vestas Wind Systems, Henning Bach Jokumsen was re-elected as Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board of Directors and will continue his chairmanship for two more years. His re-election will create continuity in the leadership and help gain valuable insight from both sides of the supply chain.

The Chairman gets re-elected

Recently, APQP4Wind had its biennial election of the Chairman of the Board of Directors during the last board meeting in the end of August. At this year’s election, sitting Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board and Senior Specialist at Vestas Wind Systems, Henning Bach Jokumsen volunteered to continue his chairmanship, and all board members voted for Henning Bach Jokumsen’s re-election.

The APQP4Wind organization is therefore happy to announce that Henning Bach Jokumsen will continue his chairmanship for two more years. Henning Bach Jokumsen is also pleased to have been re-elected, and he is looking forward to continuing with helping the APQP4Wind Team reach its goals:

I am thrilled to have been a part of the APQP4Wind journey from a developing project to an established organization. All this would not have been possible without the excellent collaboration in the Board of Directors and Working Groups, or without the training providers and the passionate APQP4Wind Secretariat. I am therefore pleased that the Board of Directors have shown me the confidence to nominate me for two more years as Chairman. I will do my utmost to help our team deliver an APQP4Wind which is further developed, deployed and matured in the wind industry, to lower the risks and the LCOE.

Henning Bach Jokumsen has been a part of APQP4Wind almost since the very beginning, and he has been the Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board of Directors since the APQP4Wind organization was established in the summer of 2018.

Since then, he and the rest of the Board of Directors have worked on developing APQP4Wind’s strategies to reach the organization’s goals. With their help, APQP4Wind has been able to ensure training deployed in 37 different countries with more than 2600 course participants certified from more than 700 companies, sell more than 5,000 APQP4Wind Manuals and gain more than 35 company members.

Continuity is key

Vice Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board and Senior Director of Global QHSE at KK Wind Solutions, Kim Schmidt Petersen expresses that APQP4Wind has come a long way since the APQP4Wind journey started, but there is still a way to go. The re-election of Henning Bach Jokumsen as Chairman will help on that journey:

I am delighted that Henning volunteered to take another turn as Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board of Directors. We are still a young organization who needs stability, especially in a time like this where a lot of other parameters are volatile. Therefore, I congratulate Henning with the nomination, and I am looking very forward to continuing our cooperation.

As APQP4Wind is still a relatively young organization that continues to grow and expand its network of Company Members, Country Ambassadors and Board Members, it is important to maintain continuity in relation to the direction we are going in.

According to Kim Schmidt Petersen, the stability in leadership means that APQP4Wind will have the continuity the organization needs to grow and further develop and mature the wind industry.

Insight from both sides of the supply chain

Henning Bach Jokumsen’s re-election also means that the APQP4Wind Board of Directors will continue to be led by one of the world’s leading OEM’s, and the leadership will therefore still consist of an OEM representative as Chairman alongside with a supplier representative as Vice Chairman.

Having both an OEM and a supplier representative in the leadership of the Board of Directors helps provide valuable insight from both sides of the supply chain, which is vital to APQP4Wind’s mission to mature the entire wind industry, as General Manager of APQP4Wind, Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen expresses:

At the APQP4Wind Secretariat, we are very happy that Henning Bach Jokumsen has been elected for another term as Chairman of the Board of Directors. His re-election means that APQP4Wind will continue to have an OEM representative in the leadership alongside with a supplier representative, which is essential for us to be able to help further develop and mature the entire global wind industry.
Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen, General Manager of APQP4Wind

The election of the Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board of Directors takes place every other year on even years. Here, it is decided who will become the Chairman for the following two-year term. Correspondingly, the board has an election to decide who will be the Vice Chairman every other year on odd years. To APQP4Wind, these elections are a fundamental part of being a democratic organization.
