New APQP4Wind Chairmanship elected
Every two years, APQP4Wind holds its chairman election, highlighting the organization’s commitment to democratic values and leadership renewal.
As a result of the latest election during the Board of Directors meeting in Hamburg in late September, Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen, QHSE Category Strategy Manager at Ørsted and representative of utility companies and developers in the APQP4Wind Chairmanship, was appointed as the new Chairman. Henning Bach Jokumsen, Head of Global Quality Assurance and Control at Vestas, was elected Vice Chairman, representing wind turbine manufacturers, while Kim Schmidt Petersen, Vice President of Global QHSE at KK Wind Solutions, will continue as Vice Chairman representing the supplier group.
This structure of the APQP4Wind Chairmanship aims to unite diverse expertise to address industry challenges and guide APQP4Wind in the right direction.
Strengthening industry collaboration
The newly elected Chairmanship will focus on strengthening the collaboration across the wind industry's supply chain, recognizing the critical need for continuous improvement and alignment of quality standards. As the new Chairman, Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen emphasizes the importance of time, cost, and quality, stating:
Building on this vision, Henning Bach Jokumsen highlights the importance of aligning quality initiatives across the supply chain and shares his enthusiasm for continuing in the leadership role on the APQP4Wind Board of Directors:
They believe that their collective expertise will tackle the challenges ahead by enhancing the deployment of Manual 1.3 among utility companies and their supply chains, along with other important initiatives. Together, they are committed to ensuring that APQP4Wind remains a leader in quality assurance within the wind sector.
Looking ahead: Focusing on continuous improvement
Since 2018, the Board of Directors has worked on developing APQP4Wind’s strategies to help the organization reach its goals. With their help, APQP4Wind has gained over 150 Company Members, sold more than 9,500 APQP4Wind Manuals, and certified over 7,600 course participants from 48 countries, representing more than 1,600 companies.
As APQP4Wind grows and adapts to the changing wind industry, its Chairmanship is focused on achieving long-term success globally. The new Chairmanship marks an important step in the organization’s journey toward a more collaborative and sustainable wind industry, promoting continuous improvement and growth.
