Established in 1969, Glual Energy designs and manufactures hydraulic equipment for industrial and renewable energy applications. The family-owned company has been active in the wind sector since the early 1990s, supporting OEMs through successive stages of turbine development.

Reflecting on this evolution, Alazne Zabaleta, CEO of Glual Group, notes that the company has “partnered with major OEMs and witnessed firsthand the transition from smaller onshore turbines to today’s large-scale offshore installations.” This long-term involvement has shaped Glual Energy’s understanding of increasing technical requirements and system complexity within the wind industry.

Glual Energy develops application-specific hydraulic solutions tailored to customer requirements. With integrated in-house engineering and manufacturing, the company maintains close alignment between product design, validation, and production. Quality assurance and process robustness have been part of Glual Energy’s internal practices for many years. While the company has applied APQP methodologies for over two decades, it has been undergoing APQP4Wind training since 2022. 

Ander Garmendia, Glual Energy Manager, explains, “The APQP4Wind framework allows us to simplify processes, enhance repeatability, strengthen reliability across projects, and make better use of our available resources. For Glual Energy, it’s about doing more and better in a sustainable, long-lasting way, supported by a skilled, motivated, and stable team.”

The APQP4Wind framework is being implemented across departments and embedded into daily operations to support cross-functional alignment, structured project execution, and systematic risk management. “The APQP4Wind philosophy aligns closely with our family-owned approach, emphasizing stability over improvisation, building on standardized processes, and maintaining a clear, consistent direction for the future,” Ander Garmendia adds.
