APQP4Wind celebrates successful participation at WindEnergy 2022

During this year’s WindEnergy trade fair, the APQP4Wind Secretariat hosted a successful Networking Event for 100 Company Members, presented the concept to 150 interested participants at Speakers’ Corner, and welcomed Vattenfall and Ørsted to the Board of Directors to strengthen the cooperation across the entire supply chain.

APQP4Wind is the “New Normal” for Wind Industry Suppliers. This was evident on several occasions when the APQP4Wind Secretariat went to Hamburg to participate in WindEnergy 2022 at the end of September.

100 Company Members joined our Networking Event

On the first day of the fair, APQP4Wind hosted a networking event exclusively for company members with a record number of attendees. The 100 participants were welcomed by Henning Bach Jokumsen, Chairman of APQP4Wind, who presented the current status of APQP4Wind and its future ambitions.

Henning Bach Jokumsen’s presentation was followed by Per Hessellund Lauritsen, Offshore Research Manager at Siemens Gamesa and one of the project leads of Industry Standards. Since June 2022, APQP4Wind has been cooperating with Industry Standards and Per Hessellund Lauritsen showed that cooperation within the industry is important, and how APQP4Wind is continuously growing.

Lastly, the Head of Strategic QHSE Supplier Management at Ørsted, Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen, and the Director of Project Quality at Vattenfall, Lesley-Ann Aakær Møller, explained why they joined the APQP4Wind Community and the importance of the framework throughout the supply chain.

The Q&A and networking session afterward gave the attendees the chance to ask the presenters follow-up questions and establish new connections with people in the industry.

We hope you all found it beneficial, and we cannot wait to invite you to our next one!

If you are not an APQP4Wind Company Member yet, you should consider signing up for an APQP4Wind Company Membership to not miss out on such a unique opportunity another time. Find the form on the website under Become a Company Member or contact the Secretariat at contact@apqp4wind.org.

Vattenfall and Ørsted is now a part of the APQP4Wind Board of Directors

On the following day, the APQP4Wind Board of Directors welcomed Vattenfall and Ørsted to the APQP4Wind Board of Directors and held an official signing ceremony. As the first utility companies to join the APQP4Wind Board of Directors, the addition of Vattenfall and Ørsted to the board is in close alignment with the APQP4Wind organization’s mission to enable and strengthen cooperation across the entire supply chain.

After the ceremony, the Board of Directors spent an entire day developing the APQP4Wind Organization’s strategy for the years to come. Each Board Member presented their suggestions and contributed to a productive discussion, and the Board of Directors decided on the new strategy by the end of the day.

Meanwhile, the dedicated group of APQP4Wind Working Group members participated in a workshop to present current projects to new members and work on the projects. The workshop was a great success, as the Working Group presented their projects' status for the APQP4Wind Board Members, who were very pleased with the highly motivated Working Group Members and their efforts to help develop APQP4Wind in the right direction.

Furthermore, the APQP4Wind Secretariat attended the WindEnergy trade fair to meet up with people from different companies representing either potential or existing APQP4Wind Company Members.

Visiting the fair was a good opportunity for the Secretariat to talk with our valued Company Members and inform potential members on how to join. Of the latter, a vast majority were very interested in becoming Company Members within the near future, while many of the existing Company Members promoted their commitment to APQP4Wind in different ways to potential customers at their respective booths.

150 attended our presentation at Speakers’ Corner

On Tuesday, September 29, Jens Schulze-Wondrak, APQP4Wind Board Member and COG QM&HSE QM QMP at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, did a presentation at Speakers’ Corner, WindEnergy for the audience consisting of 150 interested participants.

The presentation touched upon the challenges that a design engineer faces in a day to show how the tools and methods that APQP4Wind provides for the global wind industry ensure a smooth product launch, minimized quality cost, and satisfied customers.

Thank you for the great networking, strong engagement, and inspiring discussions during WindEnergy 2022!

And a special thank you goes out to our committed APQP4Wind Board Members, Working Group Members, and Country Ambassadors who came all the way to Hamburg to dedicate themselves to the further development of APQP4Wind.
