APQP4Wind celebrates a successful business tour in China

During this year´s CHINA WIND POWER, APQP4Wind Secretariat representatives participated in two seminars held by APQP4Wind Training Provider Bureau Veritas Certification and TÜV Rheinland Greater China. An APQP4Wind Company Member Exclusive Discussion Forum was successfully held during the conference, and multiple companies were visited to deepen the Secretariat´s understanding of the Chinese market.

The APQP4Wind Secretariat visited China for the first time in 2019 when the APQP4Wind concept was barely known in the country. Four years later, when representatives, APQP4Wind CEO Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen and Greater China Lead Jingchen Xi/Christina, participated in CHINA WIND POWER in October 2023, the situation changed significantly.

On the first day of their China tour, 5 hours after landing, Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen and Jingchen Xi joined the approved APQP4Wind Training Provider TÜV Rheinland Greater China on their wind power seminar. More than 50 delegates were present to hear more about APQP4Wind practice.

APQP4Wind Chairman Henning Bach Jokumsen supported the seminar online with a speech about APQP4Wind implementation in Vestas. APQP4Wind Vice Chairman Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen from Ørsted explained afterward online why it is beneficial for utility companies to join the organization. The seminar ended with a presentation from Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen about APQP4Wind´s future.

On October 17th and 18th, Kim and Jingchen were among the more than 100,000 visits to CHINA WIND POWER. The conference was a great success with more than 1000 exhibitors from all around the world. More than 200 events were held during these two days, while more than 300 speeches were shared. After the cancellation last year, CHINA WIND POWER 2023 was busier than ever, and it was an exciting experience for the APQP4Wind Secretariat.

The Secretariat visited booths of existing active Company Members and potential APQP4Wind Company Members. A vast majority of the latter were interested in joining the community in the near future. At the same time, many existing Company Members promoted their commitment to APQP4Wind in different ways to potential customers at their respective booths. The visits provided an excellent opportunity for the Secretariat to talk with our valued Company Members and inform potential members on how to join.

One of the newest additions to the APQP4Wind Chinese Community, CRRC Zhuzhou Institute Co., Ltd. Wind Power Business Unit, celebrated its membership by holding a certificate ceremony, where Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen took the chance to express the importance of quality assurance.

More than 550 companies in Greater China have employees trained in the APQP4Wind concept, which proves the importance of the area for the APQP4Wind organization. The Secretariat was glad to finally greet the companies offline and to hear their feedback. Bureau Veritas Certification used the traffic in CHINA WIND POWER and held an open-to-all seminar, where Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen explained APQP4Wind in depth to the visitors around the booth.

APQP4Wind Company Member Exclusive Forum for discussion and networking

On the 18th of October, more than 20 delegates from 15 APQP4Wind Company Members were gathered for networking and discussion. This APQP4Wind Company Member Exclusive Discussion Forum was kicked off with a welcome speech by Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen. He acknowledged the dedication of Chinese companies in APQP4Wind and expressed excitement at witnessing the rapid development of China’s wind sector.

Following this, an insightful panel discussion, expertly moderated by Mr. He from Bureau Veritas Certification China, addressed the topic `Implementing APQP4Wind in China`. The group setting allowed attendees to share invaluable information as active APQP4Wind participants, and the Q&A session afterward allowed them to ask follow-up questions and establish new connections with people in the industry. An informal APQP4Wind Chinese Company Member Community was formed to increase network engagement and communication efficiency.

The China tour did not end after CHINA WIND POWER, as Kim and Jingchen paid a visit to APQP4Wind Board of Directors Company Goldwind in Beijing, potential Company Member TBEA in Tianjin, active Company Member Envision and passionate APQP4Wind Training Provider Bureau Veritas Certification in Shanghai.

The Chinese market has been developing rapidly in the past years. Compared with my visit in 2019, I am glad to see there is a lot more interest and awareness around APQP4Wind or quality assurance in general. Companies we visited were very impressive; it proved to me again and again the potential in China.
