APQP4Wind Board of Directors' Vice Chairman gets re-elected
The Board re-elects the Vice Chairman
At APQP4Wind’s last board meeting in the middle of September, it was time for the APQP4Wind Board of Directors to elect its Vice Chairman again. Sitting Vice Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board and Senior Director of Global QHSE at KK Wind Solutions, Kim Schmidt Petersen volunteered to continue his vice chairmanship. To no surprise, all board members voted for his re-election.
We are therefore pleased to announce that Kim Schmidt Petersen will continue his vice chairmanship for two more years. Kim Schmidt Petersen is very happy to have been re-elected, and he looks forward to helping the APQP4Wind organization reach its goals:
Kim Schmidt Petersen has been a part of APQP4Wind from the very beginning, and since APQP4Wind became an established organization in the summer of 2018, he has been the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.
He and the rest of the Board of Directors have since then worked on developing APQP4Wind’s strategies to help the organization reach its goals. With their help, APQP4Wind has been able to gain 70 Company Members, sell more than 6,300 APQP4Wind Manuals, and ensure training deployed in 41 different countries with over 4,100 course participants certified from more than 1,000 companies.
The key to success is continuity
APQP4Wind is still a relatively young organization that continues to grow and expand its network of Board Members, Company Members, Working Group Members, and Country Ambassadors. This makes it essential to maintain continuity in relation to the journey we are on.
Henning Bach Jokumsen, Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board and Senior Specialist at Vestas Wind Systems, expresses that re-electing Kim Schmidt Petersen as Vice Chairman means that APQP4Wind will keep the continuity the organization needs to grow and further develop and mature the wind industry:
Valuable insight from both sides
The re-election of Kim Schmidt Petersen also means that the APQP4Wind Board of Directors will continue to be led by both Vestas Wind Systems and KK Wind Solutions, and the leadership will therefore still consist of an OEM representative as Chairman and a tier 1 supplier representative as Vice Chairman.
Having both an OEM and a tier 1 supplier representative in the leadership of the Board of Directors provides valuable insight from both sides of the supply chain, which is important to APQP4Wind’s mission to mature the entire wind industry, as General Manager of APQP4Wind, Kim Nedergaard Jacobsen expresses:
The APQP4Wind Board of Directors’ election of the Vice Chairman takes place every other year on odd years. Here, it is decided who will become the Vice Chairman for the following two-year term. Likewise, the board has an election to decide who will be the Chairman every other year on even years. To APQP4Wind, these elections are a fundamental part of being a democratic organization.
