A new APQP4Wind Chairmanship has been elected
In late September, APQP4Wind announced that Vattenfall and Ørsted joined the APQP4Wind Board of Directors to strengthen the collaboration across the entire supply chain and align the wind industry even further.
Welcoming the utility companies also meant that a new APQP4Wind chairmanship had to be formalized to include representatives from utilities, OEMs, and Tier 1 suppliers.
Therefore, the biennial election of a new Chairman at the latest Board of Directors meeting also meant that a new Vice Chairman was to be elected. Together with the sitting Vice Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board and Senior Director of Global QHSE at KK Wind Solutions, Kim Schmidt Petersen, the new APQP4Wind Chairmanship will thus consist of three persons.
New Vice Chairman to represent utilities
During the first part of the election, the Head of Strategic QHSE Supplier Management at Ørsted, Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen, volunteered to become Vice Chairman representing Utilities in the APQP4Wind Chairmanship. As expected, all Board Members voted for him.
“I am proud to have been elected as Vice Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board of Directors,” says Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen and continues to talk about his motivation for becoming a part of the APQP4Wind Chairmanship:
As Vice Chairman and representative for utilities in the Chairmanship, Gert B. Kragh-Jakobsen will aspire to bring his expertise, knowledge, and experience to the different levels of the decision-making process within APQP4Wind. He says:
“In my experience, APQP4Wind has proven to shorten time to market and reduce the cost of poor quality to ultimately lower the Levelized Cost of Energy. My ambition as Vice Chairman of APQP4Wind is therefore to advertise that, by utilizing APQP as a quality methodology and business enabler, it can result in economic success for governments, businesses, and societies.”
Chairman re-elected
When it came to electing a new Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board of Directors, the sitting Chairman and Head of Sales Quality NCE at Vestas Wind Systems, Henning Bach Jokumsen, volunteered to continue as Chairman, and all board members unanimously voted for his re-election.
Henning Bach Jokumsen has been a part of APQP4Wind from the very beginning, and since APQP4Wind became an established organization in the summer of 2018, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is, therefore, happy to have been re-elected as he looks forward to continuing the development of the APQP4Wind organization:
“I am thrilled that the Board of Directors has shown me the confidence for the third time to elect me as Chairman for two more years, and I will do my utmost as Chairman and part of the APQP4Wind Chairmanship to continue driving the excellent wind industry collaboration and strategies to further develop, deploy and mature the wind industry to lower the risks and the Levelized Cost of Energy.”
For the next two years as Chairman of the APQP4Wind Board of Directors, Henning Bach Jokumsen intends to mature APQP4Wind across the supply chain in the wind industry in a collaboration between utilities, OEMs, and suppliers. “This collaboration will drive the quality alignment for the benefit of everyone involved,” he says and continues:
A Chairmanship that completes the supply chain hierarchy
Since 2018, the Board of Directors has worked on developing APQP4Wind’s strategies to help the organization reach its goals. With their help, APQP4Wind has been able to gain 100+ Company Members, sell more than 7,800 APQP4Wind Manuals, and ensure training deployed in 48 different countries with over 6,100 course participants certified from more than 1,300 companies.
Nevertheless, APQP4Wind is still a relatively young organization that continues to grow and expand its network of Board Members, Company Members, Working Group Members, and Country Ambassadors. “This makes it essential to maintain continuity to the journey we are on,” says the sitting Vice Chairman and Senior Director of Global QHSE at KK Wind Solutions, Kim Schmidt Petersen, and explains further:
“The ever-increasing interest in the framework confirms that the concept is needed and that it is working. Likewise, the APQP4Wind Community is growing with all kinds of companies across the entire wind industry supply chain, which creates a new dimension for APQP4Wind. But our end goal remains the same: To lower the Levelized Cost of Energy:”
Based on the initial dialogue within the Chairmanship, Kim Schmidt Petersen is confident that their future discussions will be fruitful. He says:
The APQP4Wind Board of Directors election of the Chairman and Vice Chairmen takes place every other year. Here, it is decided who will become the Chairman or Vice Chairman for the following two-year term. To APQP4Wind, these elections are a fundamental part of being a democratic organization.
