In 2025, the APQP4Wind Community expanded to 170 company members, further strengthening its role as a global leader in wind energy quality assurance. With Shanghai Electric and Mingyang Smart Energy joining established OEMs such as CRRC Zhuzhou Institute, ENERCON, Envision Energy, GE Vernova, Goldwind, Nordex, SANY Renewable Energy, Senvion Wind Technologies, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Vestas Wind Systems, and Windey Energy Technology Group, nearly all of the world’s top OEMs are now part of APQP4Wind. For suppliers, harmonized standards mean fewer conflicting requirements and clearer expectations, making it easier to deliver high-quality products. Developers and customers benefit from greater consistency, reliability, and transparency across projects. The collective commitment of leading OEMs also accelerates best practice adoption and drives ongoing improvement throughout the supply chain.
RES Joins the Board: Strengthening Utility Leadership
The addition of RES to the APQP4Wind Board of Directors was a key highlight in 2025. As the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, RES brings a valuable utility perspective, enriching strategic discussions and broadening our understanding of industry challenges. Represented by Ike Anyanwu-Ebo, RES is committed to advancing quality alignment and fostering collaboration across the wind energy value chain.
RES’s participation strengthens the bridge between developers, OEMs, and suppliers, ensuring APQP4Wind’s framework remains relevant for all stakeholders. Their global expertise and focus on innovation, reliability, and sustainability align with APQP4Wind’s mission to drive maturity and continuous improvement. With RES on board, the APQP4Wind Board now includes eleven leading companies, representing a diverse range of expertise. This inclusive leadership ensures our strategies are informed by real-world experience and address the needs of the entire industry.
Innovation and Service Upgrades
This year, APQP4Wind made strong progress in member services and innovation. We launched a digital Member Platform to streamline access to resources and support efficient management of APQP4Wind activities. The platform provides a centralized hub for the manual, tools, marketing materials, and training records, offering practical support for both new and experienced members.
To better serve our growing community in China, we introduced the new Chinese website and translated the APQP4Wind Toolbox into Chinese, making critical tools and guidelines more accessible. These upgrades reflect our commitment to continuous improvement and member service, empowering companies to manage resources, access training, and stay connected with the community for higher quality and efficiency.
Global Engagement: Advancing Quality Across Continents
In 2025, APQP4Wind demonstrated its commitment to advancing quality and collaboration by actively participating in two of the wind industry’s most influential events: WindEurope in Copenhagen and China Wind Power in Beijing.
At WindEurope, Board member Eva Rutkowski addressed over 400 professionals, highlighting the impact of structured quality planning and the importance of early engagement across the value chain. The event also featured a dynamic networking session, where industry leaders discussed quality strategy, supplier collaboration, and competency development, fostering openness and the sharing of best practices.
At China Wind Power, APQP4Wind hosted a Company Member Forum in Beijing, bringing together representatives from more than 25 member companies to discuss local implementation challenges and opportunities. The team also visited key members such as CRRC Zhuzhou Institute and Windey, gaining firsthand insights into APQP4Wind’s practical application. These activities deepened our understanding of regional needs and reinforced the importance of international cooperation.
APQP4Wind’s participation in these global events goes beyond visibility. By engaging with diverse industry players and facilitating dialogue across continents, we are helping to build a resilient and mature wind power supply chain. These efforts reinforce our commitment to quality and standardization, ensuring our guidelines remain relevant in a complex, interconnected industry.
